Why is the ventrilo monitor on the homepage not workin all the time but the aux on the activity roster seems to be okay all the time?

The monitor on the homepage uses a service to retrieve vent info. The monitor on the Activity Roster gets information directly from the vent server. If the service that gets the info for the vent on the homepage goes down, the monitor goes down too.
The vent info on the forum page should work even while the monitor on the homepage is down. I know it doesn't provide the detail but it will let you know who is online.
