I edited this image in paint to demonstrate. Using red and blue
The edge of the track is the place to hit, ideally aim for the middle of the track where the blue is that way if the tank moves you should catch the track.
A tank can be taken down this way
1 hit with a TOW (mounted rocket launcher)
2 hits with anti-tank rocket launcher
2 hits with a tank shell
1 hit with an APC rocket followed by pounding the tank with shells in the red and blue positions.
