Next June i will have enough money to purchase a new computer, I would like to speak to a few people before making any decisions about what I should get. One question to yoosty, is it possible to purchase a motherboard which is DDR2 and DDR3 compatible at this current in time? and what price would I be expected to pay?

Yes there is a motherboard that does support both DDR2 and DDR3 ram.

GIGABYTE GA-P35C-DS3R LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard

Memory Number of Memory Slots document.write(neg_specification_newline('4×240pin ')); 4×240pin Memory Standard document.write(neg_specification_newline('DDR3:
2 x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting up to 4 GB of system memory
Dual channel memory architecture
Support for DDR3 1066/800 MHz memory modules
DDR2:
4 x 1.8V DDR2 DIMM sockets supporting up to 8 GB of system memory(Note 1)

But, I would wait until March 2008 before buying new motherboard at least. Since DDR3 Ram prices should be lower then and more so by June 2008. Also with the newer motherboards that are coming out, you will have a better selection by then. Plus they will support the new PCI-E 2.0 POWER slots.

As it is Intel has the only motherboard that supports both type of ram. AMD new noards should be coming out in the next couple of months.

It's not SLi though, I do beleive he wants SLi as a feature on the motherboard.

Thats why I said to wait. Intel is coming out with 2 new motherboard, in fact one is out now the X38. But right now does not Officially support SLi and the X48 is due out before end of year. Also AMD is coming out with new motherboard, read post in tech section. Plus AMD has also mention a Triple SLi motherboard for future release.
