Its strange what interests people. I wonder how many read the military posts that appear on this site? personally I find them fasinating they reveal not only the bull shit the forces surround themselves with but exactly how they go out of the way to cover up the deaths and serious injuries that occur so frequently that without the news feeds here would otherwise go un-noticed.
I also found it strange that over 2 BILLION pounds leaves the british economy to go to foreign families overseas due to them being able to claim benefits for children that are not actually living here......and who may not actually exist

I am pro-immigration to a certain extent (there needs to be a limit "quota"), I also agree that our armed forces should come before our EU commitments. But the reason we pay into the immigrant families who I believe to be EU states is because the money of other economies has been transferred to our economy to regenerate the "ghetto" cities and towns of the UK; such as Middelsborough, Newcastle and Liverpool. As far as military news, I want to hear one thing, the UK and other involved countries within the conflicts of Iraq and Afghanistan pulling out.

I really think we are doing the wrong thing by staying in the conflict, U.S. and U.K. both. Simple, right?

No, I don't believe they should pull out.
It's war people and the thing about it is it's not meant to be all fun and games.
I have friends out there and everytime I see them they say they are happy doing what they are doing, the one thing that sticks with me from what one of them said was this.......
"I didn't join the Army for an easy ride and free holidays to different contries Wayne, people saying its not our war say it from the comfort of their own homes while we (the soldiers) stick it out and get on with it......it being our JOB!"
I just stood there and said.......blimey......this guys nuts! He actually enjoys the whole experience.
Have we all gone soft in this country? Do we not realise that War is not a nice thing and people die......regardless of the war being "Legal".........how can a War be legal or illegal? I mean........its war......wars throughout history have been fought without the "Student Brigade" preaching peace and love for all and protesting against war!
As far as the Immigrants go.........close the doors now.......we have enough here that still have yet to be processed into the country and wander around as illegals for years.
Process the lot then say ok 5,000 new applicants a year and no more! Applicaton approved........welcome to the UK.........Application denied.......bye bye!

I come from a military family. I was raised in the military. My first 12 years of existence were along side soldiers. EVERYONE I know from my childhood was military.
I understand war. Call me self-centered. I don't care. What I do know is that "we" are wrong. Not our soldiers, our Government. Not trying to raise start any"fights" or anything. Just saying my small, little, 2 cents of info on that subject. And I know I could be wrong. :)

I believe the only wrong doing is that the UK/US Coalition have not decided to oust a few more crazy dictators.......Robert Mugabe anyone? Go in kick his ass and sort Africa out 1 country at a time.
The Sudan? Wow we worry about Iraq and these poor people are being slaughtered in the 100,000's, time to send in 30,000 troops and kick some rebel ass!

The only reason UK/US forces are not in Sudan and Zimbabwe is because neither of these countries are rich in natural resources and neither of these countries pose a threat to Israel.
This is inconsistent on the part of the UK and US sides if you look at it as a humanitarian issue.
But there has been among the deaths of solders scores of Iraqi and Afghan civilians killed because of the invasion/occupation. Mothers and Fathers orphaning children, that child orphaned due to the occupation will blame the US/UK occupation and so persuaded to extremism. Hate is breeding hate and will cause problems for the future of this world.
So an invasion of Sudan and Zimbabwe would just create some new "west haters" from a different country.

I am forced to agree with Liam. We have to start thinking on a global , even cosmic, cause and effect level. I know this sounds extreme, but the rate at which we are becoming a single "race" is astonishing. In all all likely-hood, in 300- 400 years most of "us" humans will all look alike. Mostly. Thus, ends racism and with it a plythera of reasons to war. I could be wrong, too.

Iran, should not be invaded either. This is a country that has no nuclear weapons and is developing nuclear power but has not successfully developed a nuclear weapon. However if they did they have signed up to a treaty in which countries agree not to use nukes offensively. Israel points nuclear weapons at Iran and is not a member of this treaty.
Iran holds democratic elections and is not a dictatorship it has posed little world threats.

Sorry it is a treaty signed by Iran that says they will not develop nuclear weapons. Which they have not, the non-proliferation treaty its called. Iran have not developed nuclear weapons. But Israel has and is no a member so would look to be more of a threat on the world stage.

Israel, from my info, seems to be little more than an American outpost. In lay-mens terms.

Israel is the second eye on the middle east for America. CENTCOM in Tampa, Florida is the first eye.
