Disabling Automatic Updates
For those of you that do not want Information that is on your computer being sent continuously to Microsoft when you are online.
Go to Administrative Tools, in your Control Panel and then click on Services. Then look for Automatic Updates in list.
*right click on name and go to Properties.
*once there click on Stop in Service Status and then in StartUp type, change from Automatic to Disable. Then click Apply.
This will work for XP operating systems, not sure on Vista yet but should also work. Another reason you want to disable this feature is at times it hogs almost all of your CPU resources.
If you need to get Critical Updates, then do reverse procedure of changing it back to Automatic and Starting it. Takes all of 3 to 5 minutes at most.
